Work placement opportunities are a mutually beneficial partnership between employers and students where the student is given the opportunity to learn the skills of a trade, develop those skills through experience, and understand what it’s like to be part of the workforce.
Students who are enrolled in a Vocational Education and Training (VET) subject, whether through school or TAFE, are required to complete a work placement program in years 11 and 12. This typically requires a minimum of 70 hours of mandatory structured work placement during the final two years of schooling to complete the student’s Higher School Certificate (HSC).
