Mid Coast Connect has expanded services into the Coffs Coast so we can provide more programs, activities and greater support to assist young people with their transition through school and into further education, training and employment. Our service region now covers Woolgoolga to Bulahdelah; with offices at Coffs Harbour, Kempsey, Port Macquarie and Taree.
School Leaver Support
Mid Coast Connect can provide advice and individual assistance to school leavers, 15 to 19 years of age, to help them enter education and training courses or obtain employment. Referrals can be made directly to us or from schools and community organisations. Find out more at School Leaver Support.

Links to Learning
The ‘Healthy Mind, Body & Soul’ program aims to improve student engagement with their learning and assist those at risk of leaving school early. The program initially will be delivered for Year 9/10 students at Wauchope High School and then be available for other government schools in the Hastings area.
Our mentoring program provides ongoing support for Indigenous students undertaking a school-based traineeship as part of their HSC. We provide assistance with balancing the demands of school, work and home.
Girls Can Too!
This hands-on program allows girls to spend the day working in trade-based facilities with female role models, raising awareness of the opportunities in non-traditional occupations.
Our one-day program of presentations and practical workshops promote training and employment opportunities in a range of industries. Health industry workshops will be held on Thursday 25 May at the Coffs Harbour Race Club. Other showcases will be advertised throughout the year.
Cows Create Careers
Students learn about career opportunities in the dairy industry as well as the broader agriculture sector through practical activities, talks with industry advocates and coursework. This industry awareness project is incorporated into Agriculture classes and involves farmers lending poddy calves to schools during Terms 2. Schools registrations are now open.
Next year’s event will be held on 2018 from 9am - 3pm at the Coffs Harbour Racing Club. The event is open to the public as well as schools scheduled throughout the day. Registrations will be available through our website and further information is available from firstname.lastname@example.org
Education Funds - Macleay Valley, Great Lakes and Hastings
Each of the three locally based funds provide financial support for school leavers each year. Applications open in September. Further information is available at www.cef.org.au
This term 4 program provides awareness and preparation for work for school-based traineeships in Community Pharmacy for Indigenous students. Trainees are then individually supported by their mentor to successfully complete their traineeship.
